Who We Are
The Homestead Valley Community Council is the representative body for the
unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County defined by the communities
of: Flamingo Heights, Johnson Valley, Landers, and Yucca Mesa.
Many years ago these communities were involved in difficulties regarding
water rights and delivery, and as a result each community banded
together via their respective community centers and improvement
associations to form the Homestead Valley Community Council (HVCC).
If you have issues or concerns within these communities you feel need to be
addressed, please bring these concerns to your local community center or
improvement association, and your association's delegates to the council will be
happy to have your matters addressed at an upcoming meeting of the council.
Alternatively, you may locate one of the respective HVCC delegates for your area
and address the issue with them directly. The HVCC meets monthly and all
council meetings are open to the public. You may also address your issue here.
Feel free to browse our (your) website for up to date information concerning the
interests of our community. We maintain a wealth of information and post an
events calendar. Don't forget that you are welcome to attend ANY of our
upcoming council meetings.
Each community appoints delegates
to serve on the council, providing a
representative voice for the valley
to the County of San Bernardino, the
State of California, and the
surrounding communities. If you
live within the boundaries of these
four vast and rural communities, we
are the officially recognized body
for your concerns.
